  • This recipe makes 24-28 cookies; however you can easily double the batch just make sure you hold off on the extra two tablespoons of flour until you have mixed your dough. Then add one tablespoon of flour at a time until consistency of your dough resembles dense cookie dough.
  • Make the dough now and bake the cookies later. Freeze the brown sugar cookie dough for up to three months in freezer-safe packaging. Make the baking step even easier by rolling the dough into balls before you place it in the freezer.
  • Store the baked cookies in an airtight container for up to a week and add a slice of bread to the sealed container to keep the cookies soft.

What You Can Add To Brown Sugar Cookies

  • Add a flavorful hint of cinnamon to your cookies by mixing a teaspoon of ground cinnamon in the shallow bowl of sugar before rolling the cookie dough balls.
  • If you prefer frosted sugar cookies, skip the final step of rolling the dough in sugar and top these Brown Sugar Cookies with caramel frosting or maple glaze. YUM!
  • Add colorful or festive sprinkles to the tops of the cookies before you bake them or after you frost them.
