DIY printable kids birthday cards Instructions:

1. Download and print

After you sign-up above as a Kenarry subscriber, you’ll receive the download link to the printable PDF via email. Both card designs have been formatted for Letter-sized paper for printing at home and fit into standard sized card envelopes. I usually print with the “Actual Size” setting on my home printer or you can adjust the percentage if you want to print smaller.

If you do not have access to a printer or prefer thicker cardstock paper, you can also send the files to your local print shop to get them professionally printed in color. It’s a great option also if you want to print in bulk!

2. Trim print outs & Prepare cards

Once your card designs are printed, simply trim off the excess paper and fold in half to prepare your DIY card. You can use a paper trimmer or scissors to trim – whatever you have handy at home. I have found often that folding the card first, then trimming the final size, gives me the cleanest looking result. You can also use a corner trimmer to round the edges if you prefer.

You might also want to decorate your card by adding stickers, embellishments, glitter and other tidbits. This is a really fun activity for kids, so they can really personalize a card before sending it to their friends. Besides writing a personal message inside, consider adding a hat on characters or little decorations on the card front to add personal flare.

3. Send or include with gifts

Now that you have created unique and beautiful printable kids birthday cards, remember to write your personal note inside and include with your gifts or send it out in the post to your recipient.

I have found this practice of creating monthly birthday cards with my kids, a fun crafty activity that also reminds us to connect with our friends and family, so we never miss a birthday or important milestone.
